After a period living in the United Kingdom in the mid 1980’s, Brent returned to New Zealand to finish the law degree he started in the early 1980’s, graduating from Canterbury University with an LL.B in 1988. He was admitted to the bar in June 1989. After a long stint with another Christchurch firm, Brent joined Kannangara Thomson as a partner in April 2015. Having worked mainly in suburban offices he has a broad general practice with an extensive private client base.

Interests:
In his spare time Brent enjoys time with his family. He has four children, three sons and a daughter. He is a regular road cyclist and enjoys Mountain biking. and has competed in the Forest Grape Ride in Marlborough the last three years. He enjoys watching cricket and rugby and is an avid Crusaders fan. He has been to three rugby World Cups, having attended matches in Australia, the UK and France and New Zealand. He enjoys the occasional round of golf and has a particular passion for travel.
