Georges Road Wines is a small, family-owned winery nestled in North Canterbury’s stunning Waipara Valley. Alison and her husband Kirk’s journey began over 20 years ago with 8 hectares of bare earth, a dream, and the support of our family and friends. From that blank canvas, we’ve created a thriving vineyard and cellar door that reflects our passion for quality wine, warm hospitality, and connection to place.
Kirk is the viticulturist and wine maker. All our wines are grown and made onsite using natural yeasts and minimal intervention, allowing each vintage to express the true character of our land. From grape to glass, everything is done by hand — a true labour of love.
At our cellar door, guests can:

– Build their own antipasto platters with fresh local produce

We’re also proud to host a range of
creative and community events throughout the year — from printmaking workshops and star-gazing nights to Italian Cooking courses and movie screenings — bringing people together over shared experiences and great wine.
