I’m Gillian, a Registered Psychotherapist (Gestalt Psychotherapy, 2013) and full member of APANZ. After many years working in psychiatric nursing, I moved into psychotherapy, bringing a practical and compassionate approach. I specialise in supporting adults who are noticing changes in their emotional or psychological wellbeing that are affecting everyday life and relationships. My areas of focus include stress, anxiety, low mood, adjustment difficulties, distress that’s hard to name, eating concerns, trauma, grief, loss, relationship challenges, and the lasting effects of early attachment experiences. I am committed to working respectfully with Māori, Pasifika, and people from diverse cultural backgrounds and
I strive to create a space where every client feels valued and respected. Previously based in Dunedin and now practicing in the Waimakariri, I meet with clients from all over Aotearoa through online sessions. My approach centres on what feels most important for you right now, offering a warm, non‑judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel understood. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s been feeling difficult for you lately and find ways to help you live better day to day. If you feel I might be a good fit, I’d welcome the chance to meet with you.
