Moral Compass provides wrap-around support to at-risk young people aged 13–25 who are struggling with behavioural, academic, or personal challenges.
Our model pairs one-on-one mentoring with outdoor education hunting, fishing, bushcraft, navigation. We build resilience, life skills, and moral character. Uniquely tailoring each session to the presenting need of the youngster.
We work holistically using Te Whare Tapa Whā, addressing physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social wellbeing. We support families in need through food provision via community groups and churches. We also deliver motivational talks in schools and community groups.
Agencies including Youth Justice, the Ministry of Education, and local schools refer their most complex cases when traditional approaches fail. Many come from gang-exposed households, generational trauma, and poverty.
Our service provides mentoring to young people who are referred to us when traditional indoor programmes haven't engaged them. Our focus is on equipping these teenagers with vital life skills often inaccessible to them.
