Inder originates from India, a country of richness in culture and diversity. Her career background consists of experience in aviation as an inflight manager, a training specialist in the building industry and a career practitioner in the public sector in New Zealand. Though she has transitioned through different industries, her driving values are being humble and courageous to do the right thing. Currently, Inder is an Employer Liaison at Pathways to Employment programme, New Zealand Red Cross. The purpose of this programme is to provide employment-related support to former refugees in New Zealand.
Here is what Pathways to Employment team does in Christchurch:
Work with clients on a one-to-one basis, identifying and addressing their needs.
Support clients in preparing for the local job market, connecting them with employment and providing them post-placement support.
Educate our clients on employment regulations and the local work culture through workshops.
Who are our clients?
Our clients have refugee backgrounds, and they are WINZ clients.
Their age group is between 18-64yrs.
They are either NZ citizens or Permanent Residences of NZ.

Our clients are ordinary people who have gone through extraordinary circumstances. They are resilient and have the openness to embark on new careers.
We provide up to six months of post-placement support to clients and employers, if required. This includes mitigating barriers due to language and cultural differences etc.
Our clients are eligible for Flexi-wage and other WINZ support for employers (financial support from WINZ towards wages).
Coming from different cultural backgrounds, our clients add ideas and enhance diversity in businesses.
